Discurso indireto - parte 2

Continuando com o discurso indireto (reported speech), vamos ver as frases no presente contínuo (present continuous or progressive).


Discurso direto: 
Susan: "I'm reading my favorite book now."


Discurso indireto:
Susan said (that) she was reading her favorite book now.


Nota-se que se o 'now' pode ser mantido se o tempo entre o que foi falado e o que foi reportado não mudou. Continua sendo 'agora'. Se mudou, trocamos por 'at that time' (naquela hora). 


Mais exemplos:


Discurso direto:
Mariah: "I'm not working on my project at the moment."


Discurso indireto: 
Mariah said (that) she was not working on her project at that moment."


Nota-se a mudança de 'the moment' para 'that moment'. 


Discurso direto: 
Peter and Sue: "We're not driving to the farm this weekend."
Peter and Sue said (that) they were not driving to the farm this weekend.


Da mesma forma que o 'agora', o 'this weekend' permanece o mesmo se o tempo entre os dois discursos permanece o mesmo. Se não, muda-se para 'that weekend'. 
Nota-se também que o presente contínuo no último exemplo acima refere-se ao futuro, mas a regra é a mesma.
